Happy Saturday! It’s crazy for me to think that four weeks ago at this time, I was wearing a wedding dress getting ready to marry Matt – how time flies! We are still waiting to get our pictures, so I thought I’d share another favorite in the meantime. 🙂
We finished writing the last of our thank you cards this afternoon which was a wonderful feeling as we wanted to be sure to thank all of our family and friends in as timely of a matter as possible. We also went shopping last weekend and purchased a few items for our home such as a cube organizer, new lamps, and this fun spice rack from IKEA. Our house is definitely feeling like a home! 🙂
I had my first morning of unofficial work this week as I had to go in for a pre-health assessment, and during this time I faced my fear of needles as I had some blood drawn. I was proud of myself for not fainting as the four vials filled with my blood, but I am curious, does anyone else have a fear of needles? It is so easy for me to see blood when it’s not my own, but for whatever reason, seeing a needle almost always makes me at least tear up – oh fears!
Matt and I have been getting lots of use out of the waffle maker we received from the wedding. We have made yummy buckwheat, banana waffles, falafel waffles, eggs in the shape of a waffle. I had no idea that so many foods could be made in the waffle maker. Do you have any favorite waffle recipes? This is the recipe we’ve been using for our cinnamon waffles (swapping the oil for applesauce and slicing the bananas vs. mashing them) – they are SO good! 🙂
This afternoon Matt and I were watching an episode of friends when all of a sudden we heard a knock at the front door. Matt greeted a salesman who was trying to sell home security systems and after several minutes of the salesman trying to make a sale, Matt kindly told him that we wanted to have some time to think about the purchase before deciding anything. The salesman seemed visibly upset and his affect went from friendly to somewhat rude, and we almost had to ask him to leave as he started acting very unprofessional. After he left we both decided it was a very uncomfortable encounter, and we thought that the situation could have been handled differently. I have lots of respect for salespeople as I used to be an independent consultant for a skincare company, but I was just wondering if anyone else had ever had an experience like this and a possible good resolution for when the attempted sale gets awkward. Thoughts???
Matt and I are a big fan of celebrating anniversaries, so yesterday we celebrated (2 weeks early) our one year dating anniversary. We commemorated the occasion by recreating the day that led up to Matt asking me out in his car at 3 am by going to a history museum, zoo, theme park, and ending the night at a diner eating breakfast food. He also asked me out again, and I of course said yes. Have you ever recreated a date before?
I am happy to say that my blog redesign is mostly complete, thanks to Quinn, and if you are looking for someone to help you with a blog makeover, let me know as he was fabulous to work with. 🙂 Well. time to wrap up this post, but I hope you have a fabulous Saturday and thanks for reading!
