“Joan, can I have a piece of gum?”
“Sure, which flavor?”
This is a conversation I’ve had far too many times as it is not uncommon for me to carry at least 2 different flavors of gum with me at all times. You’re probably wondering – okay, maybe you’re not, and I just like to think that my gum addiction is so fascinating that it’s worth devoting an entire blog post to- “Joan, why do you like gum so much?” And my answer to you would be, “Why don’t you like gum more?”
Think about it. It’s a great way to add a dessert flavor to the end of a meal without having to eat the full-calorie dessert. I mean how good does raspberry vanilla cupcake or lemon square sound after a meal? Extra, my preferred brand of choice, has gum with a good chewing lifespan – nothing worse than gum that gets too hard after just a few minutes – and good flavor life span – nothing worse than trying to chew something with no taste.
And so, this post really has no moral to the story other than to say that we all have our quirks that make us unique, so when you find what makes you you, embrace it 🙂 Happy Friday!
