During my lunch break today I went for a short walk, and I have to share with you what I saw, so here goes the world’s shortest post before I have to get back to work…
A few minutes into my walk I thought it would be neat to see a rose or two since I started praying St. Terese’s novena last night (it is not uncommon to see roses when saying this novena). Well, within just a few minutes I saw my first rose: a lone red rose that was nearly hidden in a large flower bed.
“Yay, that’s fun,” I thought as I kept walking as I held the intention of my novena close to my heart.
Starting to feel the sweat forming on my face due to the above average fall temperature surrounding me, I decided it would be wise to wrap up my walk since I highly doubted my afternoon patients would want to work with a sweaty dietitian! So I continued walking along the somewhat heavily forested area, when all of a sudden a red item poking through the leaves caught my eye. As I walked closer to the mysterious thing tied to the tree, I realized what it was: another red rose!
“No way!” I exclaimed as I walked closer to the rose that was being held in place with a simple ribbon.
As I stopped to examine the rose, I was filled with this feeling that I was meant to see it today. Whether coincedence or not, seeing the rose helped me focus my thoughts yet again to my prayer intention, and I finished my walk feeling excited to tell you.
And so the reason for me sharing this story with you today is simple: God can speak to you in the simplest of ways if you only let him, so take the time to stop and be amazed when things like this happen to you! 🙂
