Happy Friday and Halloween! Pop quiz: what’s your favorite season? My answer for this question always used to be summer, but this year I have a new answer: fall. I’ve never not enjoyed fall, but I honestly didn’t realize how many fun things one could do during the months of September and October! From admiring foliage to carving pumpkins to playing in piles of raked leaves to jumping around in a corn pit (yes, that’s a thing!), I feel like I finally embraced fall and loved every minute of it!
Last week I was at a meeting for an upcoming youth retreat I’ll be helping with, and the youth minister played the following video which left me seriously wanting to take up tap dancing:
*The dancing starts right around the 1:00 mark*
I had a few job interviews this week, so I am praying that my search is nearing its end. I definitely have a new appreciation and respect for those who have been unemployed for significant periods of time as it can be a very overwhelming process that requires much patience and perseverance. Pope Francis said these words earlier this week, “There is no worse material poverty than that of not being able to earn one’s daily bread,” so for anyone reading this who is job searching, know of my prayers for you!
One of my friends is helping with an eating disorder awareness conference in her archdiocese tomorrow, so if you think of it, please say a prayer for her and for the success of the day! 🙂
I came across this article a few weeks ago and completely forgot about it until now, but it’s AWESOME! It’s called “It Isn’t Mine,” and here’s the first paragraph to hopefully hook you to read the rest:
“There is a tendency in ministry to talk about what we do as “ours” or “mine”. I’ve fallen into that trap more times than I can count. My ministry is growing or my program has seen much change and improvement. Wrong. This ministry I’m blessed to work with isn’t mine. It is God’s – He just lets me be His hands and feet.”
Right now I am addicted to this song by Plumb. I have a tendency to listen to new songs that I love over and over again, so I’m glad I have a new song to replace my past “Shake it Off” addiction. 🙂 Any songs on your repeat list right now?
Do you have any special plans for your Halloween? Mine will be pretty laid back consisting of watching Alfred Hitchcock movies and enjoying a few pieces of candy! Hope you have a safe and blessed weekend! 🙂
Happy Friday! 🙂
