I’m giving myself 18 minutes (four more minutes compared to my last time challenge!) to write this 7QT post before I need to start getting ready for work, so here goes! 🙂 Happy last day of February! As a child the idea that some people wouldn’t be able to celebrate a birthday each year due to the leap year technicality really upset me, so to those of you with February 29 birthdays, happy birthday anyways!
Lent is just a few days away, and I have yet to decide exactly what I would like to do during those 40 days to prepare for Easter. While I love the idea of choosing to refrain from certain foods/behaviors/etc., the last couple of years I’ve also enjoyed adding things to my life such as prayer, writing more Lenten inspired blog posts, etc. Last year I wrote a blog post each day of Lent which I will not do this year due to time constraints, but I’m hoping that whatever I do will help to make this time more special. What are you doing for Lent this year?
Yesterday I downloaded Jamie Grace’s new CD “Ready to Fly,” and it has literally been playing in my apartment and car almost nonstop since the songs appeared in my iTunes folder. The song that inspired me to buy it, “Just a Friend,” has such a catchy melody and upbeat sound to it, but another song that I’ve been loving is “Waiting.” If you need new music, I highly recommend checking out this CD!
Yesterday I wrote about my friend’s brilliant idea to start some sort of a prayer/running group, so if anyone is interested in being part of a group that runs for a reason, let me know, and I’ll give you more details! 🙂
The last few weeks I’ve been doing my grocery shopping at Walmart instead of Target (sorry Target, but Walmart saves me money!), and I discovered my new favorite dessert: Yopa! yogurt. What intrigued me about these mini Greek yogurts was the fact that on top of the plain vanilla flavored 3.5 oz. cup is the perfect little amount of Dove dark chocolate pieces. Greek yogurt + dark chocolate?! Genius! And the nutrition panel isn’t too bad either at only 120 calories, 3 grams fat, 16 grams carbohydrate, and 8 grams protein with the topping. They also have a key lime flavor which I’m hoping to try next week!
I think I might officially add at least one Pope Francis shout out to my future 7QT posts (maybe a Lenten resolution?), but have you checked out this video? He is talking straight into the camera in hopes of promoting Christian unity, and I must say that I got emotional after just the first few seconds as this man is just so humble and inspiring! He starts talking around the 8:30 mark if you don’t want to listen to the whole video 🙂
Well, my time is up here, but I hope that you all have a fantastic Friday! My weekend is looking like it will be a rather relaxed one consisting of homework, catching up with friends, and drinking lots of coffee. I mentioned a month or so ago that I signed up to run a full marathon, and I’m having major doubts with that right now due to how busy my school schedule is, but I’m hoping to still run the half marathon, so if by some miracle the weather here warms up above zero degrees, I might try for a run outside! Oh, one last thing, I’ve been playing around with different themes the past week as I am feeling like a change on my blog, so don’t be alarmed if during the next week or so you see a new format/color setting!
Happy Friday! 🙂
