This past week Monday Matt and I celebrated our one year wedding anniversary. To celebrate the occasion, we took the day off from work and spent it together at Mass, a theme park, and watching our wedding video that our brother-in-law put together for us. It was so much fun reliving the day, and as we were watching the video, I decided that it would be fun to share a portion of the day with you.
I don’t think I wrote about this last year at all, but in preparing for our wedding, I thought it would be special to compose one of the songs for the Mass. For as long as I can remember I’ve been writing or covering random church hymns on piano, so I thought our wedding would be the perfect occasion to actually share that music with our family and friends and dedicate a song to Matt and our marriage.
The song I ended up writing was based from Psalm 37’s verse 4: “Find your delight in the Lord, He will give you your heart’s desire.” The psalm had always been a favorite one of mine, and I thought it would be fun to write the song to a melody similar to Canon in D – another favorite of mine.
So…there ya go! Feel free to watch the video and thank you for all of the prayers during this past year! 🙂
