Last week Matt and saw Needtobreathe and company in concert, and it was amazing! I honestly wasn’t too familiar with their music when we booked tickets for the concert a few months ago, but after purchasing and binge listening to a few of their CDs, I came to love their folky feel! The following song is one from their new album that I really enjoyed, so I thought I’d share it with you!
I had the day off from work yesterday and to help celebrate I went to a local Christian bookstore to peruse their saint merchandise. I ended up finding one of my favorite childhood saint books and bought it for one of my friend’s daughters as NO JOKE I read those books almost daily! Did anyone else read these books when they were younger? 🙂
Matt and I were able to go to Mass together after he got off of work last night to celebrate All Saints’ Day, and the priest had a really great homily which focused on the importance of each and us doing everything we can to be saints. A line that stuck out to me was something like the following: “Just as the saints were ordinary people, so are we, the ordinary people, called to be saints.” Did anyone else hear any homily gems they’d like to pass along?
I have written about my love for Aldi grocery stores numerous times, and Matt and I again found an awesome recipe that I have to share with you. I was a bit skeptical of this Butternut Squash and Cranberry Meatloaf recipe as one of the steps does require you to blend raw (yes, I said raw!) chicken before mixing all of the ingredients together. Aside from this somewhat repulsive step, it turned out really well, and it’s made great leftovers for the week.
The other amazing recipe we found on the Aldi website were these stuffed chicken breasts. The modification we would recommend if trying this recipe would be to eliminate stuffing the chicken with the zucchini and bell peppers as while they did add a nice flavor, it made stuffing the chicken that much more difficult.
One of my favorite new Catholic lifestyle bridal blogs, Spoken Bride, shared a bit of our wedding day and testimony a few weeks ago, so in case you haven’t had a chance to check out this beautiful blog with helpful resources for wedding planning, etc., go check it out now!
On a non-Aldi related note, I am shocked that it is now November. Where in the world did October go? We had a pretty uneventful Halloween evening as I had to work, but we somewhat enjoyed watching part of the Vikings football game even though they lost terribly. Did you do anything exciting for Halloween or get dressed up at all?
I’m going to leave you with two last non-Needtobreathe songs, and the first is the song that inspired me to want to learn the ukulele. Matt and I are huge America’s Got Talent fans, and this year’s winner, Grace is a talented 12-year old songwriter and ukulele. One day when Matt came home from work, he told me he had a surprise, and he pulled out a beautiful brown, wooden ukulele. I haven’t been playing it as much as I did when I first got it, but I do love how compact and light it is compared to the guitar I bought a few years ago and tried to learn. The second song is one I shared a few months ago, but I am still addicted to it so wanted to pass that one along too in case you haven’t heard of it yet!
Well, that’s all for now, but I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day and week! 🙂
Hope you have a wonderful weekend! 🙂
